Opium Atelier 9-13 dec 2019

From 9 to 13 December 2019, I inhabited the residency of OpiumAtelier from the Dutch Radio NPO Radio 4. During this time, I experimented with alternative photographic techniques. I tried to capture the transitoriness of my surroundings by coming back to the same places during different times of the day. The same places had a different feel every time. Sometimes friendly and warm, but also dark, cold and eerie.

2019 | Impossible film | Polaroids | 8,8 x 10,8 cm

I used Cyanotype technique to capture long exposures and by doing this, stretching the photographic technique to it’s limit by exposing for multiple hours. After this, I used different methods to tone the Cyanotypes to bring the work back to it’s source. The woods, the sky, the leaves and the natural light.
