Van buiten naar binnen gekeerd. De wereld die wij waarnemen om ons heen krijgt een nieuw leven binnen het hoofd. Dit nieuwe leven wordt zichtbaar door de prints gemaakt in de donkere kamer. Ik werk voornamelijk op analoog fotomateriaal. Dit materiaal geeft me de juiste handvaten om een goede fotografische representatie te maken van de buitenwereld.

Als onze weergave van tijd, ruimte en onze beweging door deze de concepten zijn waarop we ons idee van realiteit baseren, dan is het ‘zijn’ een illusie. In mijn werk, tracht ik de beschouwer deze illusie te bevragen. Onze perceptie van realiteit en de realiteit zelf worden tegenover elkaar gezet en bevragen ons existentialistische manier van bestaan.

From the outside, inwards. The world around us gets a new life inside of the mind, a life that becomes visual with the prints that are made in the darkroom. I work on analogue photographic material. This material gives me the right tools to make from the outside world an accurate photographic representation.

If the sense of time, space and the movement through them are the concepts on what we base our reality, then one’s being is an illusion. In my work, this perception of reality is being brought to the attention of the viewer. The perception of reality and reality itself are being put against each other and question our existential being.
